*****  Notes on using Barcode Readers with Grid Pen-Based Computers.  ******

Using a barcode scanner with the Convertible:
The Grid Barpen will plug directly into the serial port of a Grid 
convertible, but you must first configure the Convertible to recognize
a barcode scanner in the serial port.
1) From a DOS prompt, type "config" and press enter.
2) With the pen, touch "Peripheral Settings".
3) Touch "COM1" (just to the right of the label "Serial Port").
4) Touch "Barcode" (just to the right of the label "Serial pin settings").
5) Touch the "Main Menu" button.
6) Touch the "Exit" button.
You are now ready to use a serial barcode reader.  You will not need to
configure your Convertible again, as these changes will be remembered even
after powering down your machine.
